Summary: The purpose of this study was to determine and evaluate microleakage of restorative materials in preparations by using the horizontal tunnel method in temporary teeth. One hundred and five temporary molars were etched with 210 preparations, and later thermocycled and placed in 0.2 porcentage methylene blue solution for evaluation. The samples were divided into three groups of 35 molars each, identified according to their observation times. Each group was in turn divided into 7 subgroups of 5 rnolars for each determination. The molars were filled with light- cured composite resin TPH Spectrum (Dentsply), polyacid-modified composite resin (Dyract), and packable resin (Surefil). The same materials were combined with adhesive SBMPP (3M) and used for the following three groups. The last material used was amalgam with SBMPP. Microleakage results were evaluated using the imaging analysis. There were significant differences in the preparations filled with amalgam and resins in the groups evaluated at 30 (p<0.001), at 60 (p<0.01), and at 90 days (p<0.01). Comparative analyses of amalgams at 30 and 60 days (p<0.001) and at 30 and 90 days were statistically significant. Only results of amalgams evaluated at 60 and 90 days were not significant. The analysis of test samples was significant in the groups studied at 30 and 60 days (p<0.05), and in those at 30 and 90 days. (p<0.05).The groups analysed at 60 and 90 days showed no significant differences. This study was performed using the Kslite program, which offers the possibility of having a reliable database for statistical analysis, and together with Surfer for 3D reconstruction, it allows us to develop our work material, with profound implications for teaching and investigation.
